But luckily for your wallet, a box of about 8 comes out to only 20 baht. The Pandan Sweetmeat is made from flour, coconut sugar and pandan leaf extract. The bright green snack is perfectly chewy, soft and not overly sweet, making it the perfect snack to eat on the go.

After You has quickly become a dessert institution in Bangkok and luckily for us, Siam Square has one of the largest branches. After Your is famous for their Honey Toast and icy Kakigori. To try these famed desserts is no easy task as no matter what time of day it is, you’re sure to find a line at After You. However that shouldn’t stop you from lining up as the wait is definitely worth it. For first-timers, we recommend trying the Shibuya Honey Toast (a close second is their Thai Tea Kakigori). The large cube of bread is hot and crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Topped with 2 heaping scoops of vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream and syrup and you’ve got a winner.

Have you seen those infamous cheese pulls on your social media feeds? Well we went to investigate at SayChiizu if it’s the real deal or just a Photoshop scam. SayChiizu is a Bangkok-born Hokkaido Cheese Toast invention. Try the chocolate cheese toast, it is as tasty as it is photogenic. The chocolate bread is very mild in flavor but the real star is the delicious cheese paired with sweet cream cheese which elevates this “grilled cheese” into something much more. Take a bite when it’s hot and you’ll be able to stretch that cheese for almost a meter, making it perfect for a photo op.

Mango Tango is another Siam Square classic spot. It has been a staple tourist destination ever since it opened. Even though it’s touristy, there’s a reason why people go back. The shop is famous for their array of Mango desserts. At a classic spot, we have decided to try the classic bestseller – the Mango Swing. Fresh mango is blended up into a refreshing slushy and served atop chewy sago pearls. A perfect treat to cool off on a hot Bangkok day.

Bangkok’s first Korean dessert cafe is located right in the middle of Siam Square. The main attractions are the giant Bingsu’s. Bingsu is a popular Korean shaved ice dessert with a variety of toppings such as fruit, condensed milk, red bean and more. The shaved ice is fluffy and snow-like with a creamy taste as it is made from frozen milk. Seobinggo Korean Dessert Café makes some of the best bingsu in the city. A favorite is the Blueberry Cheese Bingsu. The fluffy snow is piled high to resemble a mountain and is topped with blueberries, blueberry jam, cheesecake chunks and a big scoop of vanilla ice-cream. The dessert is not cheap but it’s one you need to share with at least 4 other people. The refreshing dessert is a favorite amongst students in the area.
